With the first generations of BMW ConnectedDrive, an Internet Browser (S6AR) was available on the professional navigation system of every BMW. However it was a very basic internet browser, it was sufficient to lookup information on the internet from the navigation display.
However the BMW ConnectedDrive Internet Browser, isn't available anymore in the BMW ConnectedDrive store, it still can be enabled for the NBT professional navigation system.
Since the introduction of BMW ConnectedDrive in 2011, BMW owners without telematics were able to use BMW connecteddrive via bluetooth tethering. In fact BMW Live is a limited version of BMW Online which is still available for BMW's with telematics and an active ConnectedDrive subscription.
BMW Owners who fully depend on BMW Live, because their BMW has no telematics, have come to a situation that their BMW can't use any BMW ConnectedDrive services anymore. BMW Live was ended silently by BMW in April 2020, eight years after its introduction.
